Professional and Industry experience.

What is Professional/Industry experience?
Professional experience consists of any form of interaction between yourself and an employed/established designer or company or any project undertaken with a client in mind, this includes anything from paid work, a week of work experience and even a simple conversation with an experienced designer.

Why is Professional/Industry experience important as part of PPD?
The experience is vital as it allows you to build an understanding of the design process taken in an industry environment and this allows you to build confidence in your own design skills.
It will also allow you to see what skills are needed in this environment and allows you to adapt yourself before plunging into the deep end.

How do you gain Professional/Industry experience and what forms does it take?
The most obvious ways to gain experience in the industry would be work experience and actual contact with industry professionals, these methods allow you to experience the industry process first hand.

What should you gain from Professional/Industry experience?
You do not necessary gain only industry knowledge from this experience but you may also gain your own contacts within the industry that could one day lead to freelance work and further projects, the experience is also invaluable for a CV.
